100% genuine Sak Yant tattoo experience by Master Ajarns
Traditional Thai Sak Yant bamboo tattoos are becoming more and more popular with foreign visitors and those seeking to live here. Especially since celebrities such as Angelina Jolie and Ed Sheeran had these unique spiritual experiences during their visits to Thailand. Sak Yant Phuket offers a 100% genuine Sak Yant tattoo experience by Master Ajarns with many years of experience. We are one of the few places where you can get a REAL, custom designed Sak Yant Tattoo in Phuket including spiritual blessings ceremonies.
A Sak Yant design like a Hah Taew (5 lines) isn’t automatically a Sak Yant because it is hand-poked. Many tattoo shops make tourists believe that a “bamboo tattoo” is automatically a Sak Yant tattoo. A bamboo tattoo/hand-poked tattoo is only a Sak Yant when it is done and blessed by a real Ajarn. The Ajarn is the only one who can perform the spiritual rituals and ceremonies which give the traditional bamboo tattoo/Sak Yant it’s magical power. We are recommended by Sak Yant Chiang Mai for providing real and authentic Sak Yants in Phuket.

Sak Yant history
Sak Yant, traditional thai bamboo tattoos or thai yantra tattoos as often called have a centuries long history in Asia. Especially in Thailand, Myanmar and Cambodia. They are influenced from Buddhism, animism, and Hinduism. Sak Yants were a protective talisman for warriors in battles providing them protection, health, good fortune, strength, invulnerability and other powers. They were applied by monks or spiritual masters. Nowadays they are done by Ajarns and Master Ajarns
What is an Ajarn?
Ajarns are “Learned People” (Sak Yant masters) who have lived as and been trained by monks in these ancient arts. They have chosen to leave the monastic life behind to practice and offer Sak Yant tattoos to the public. Only Ajarns are able to offer authentic and real blessing ceremonies and other spiritual services alongside the Sak Yant tattoo. With the increasing popularity of Sak Yants, many tattoo parlors and artists offer replicas of the traditional designs, which they term “bamboo tattooing”. But, be aware that they are not Sak Yants if the artist is not a trained Ajarn.
Sak Yant language
The two main languages used in Sak Yants are Pali, and Khom. While Pali dates back to the 5th or 6th century Khom Thai was developed during the 15th century. Sak Yants from the South of thailand are usually written in Pali while Sak Yants from the North and Cambodia are written in Khom.

Hygiene
Maintaining good hygiene during and after getting a tattoo is crucial for proper healing and preventing infections.
This includes both the tattoo artists’ practices and the clients’ aftercare. Key aspects involve using sterile equipment in a sterile environment, practicing proper hand hygiene, and following aftercare instructions for cleaning and moisturizing the tattoo.
It goes without saying that we use single-use, sterile needles and equipment for each client and perform the tattoo in a clean, sterile, disinfected work area. Contaminated materials are disposed of properly.
